# Memory

> The short notes Triagic reads before every agent run, who can change them, and where they are kept.

## What it is [#what-it-is]

**Memory** is a list of short notes the agent reads before it starts any run, so nobody has to
repeat them. There are two kinds:

* **Organization notes**: facts about your systems ("store sales are in `pos_sales_daily`") and
lessons from mistakes ("every DynamoDB call goes to `eu-west-1`"). Everyone in your organization
shares them, and only admins approve them.
* **Personal notes**: your own preferences ("keep summaries to three bullets"). Only you see them.

Procedures belong in [Playbooks](/docs/desktop/playbooks-in-app) and long documents in Knowledge.

## How notes get saved [#how-notes-get-saved]

* **In a conversation.** Tell Triagic something lasting in the Console, a ticket follow-up or a
dashboard chat and it saves a personal note, then says so. The card under the answer has
**Undo**, **Edit** and **Suggest for org**.
* **From mistakes.** When a tool call fails because the agent guessed wrong (a table, column, key,
region or parameter) and a later call works, Triagic asks the agent to record the fix. The note
arrives as a suggestion with the failed call and the call that worked attached. Emails and other
personal data in those two calls are always redacted before the suggestion is stored.
* **By hand.** Use **Add note** on the Memory page. Admins can add an organization note directly.
Members can suggest one for an admin to review.

A run saves at most 3 notes.

## Review [#review]

Organization notes suggested by an agent run or a teammate wait under **To review**. Nothing waiting
for review is used by any run. Admins **Approve**, **Edit** first, or **Dismiss**, on the Memory
page or right in the thread where the suggestion was made. A card left open in an old thread
can't dismiss a note that has since been reviewed. The **Memory** item in the sidebar shows how
many are waiting. Members don't see the review list or its count.

## Where memory is used [#where-memory-is-used]

| Run | Reads organization notes | Reads your personal notes | Can save personal notes | Can suggest organization notes |
| ------------------------------------------ | ------------------------ | ------------------------- | ----------------------- | ------------------------------ |
| Ticket investigation (auto triage, Triage) | Yes | No | No | Yes |
| Ticket follow-ups, Console, dashboard chat | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Dashboard builds, generated docs | Yes | No | No | Yes |
| Scheduled reports and checkups | Yes | No | No | Yes |

A note tied to an integration is read only by runs that can use that integration. One-shot writing
(Suggest alerts, reply drafts and rewrites) doesn't use memory yet.

## Privacy and storage [#privacy-and-storage]

* Organization notes are stored in Triagic cloud and synced to every desktop in your organization.
A note tied to a data source your team can't use doesn't reach your desktop. Installs without
the cloud keep organization notes on that desktop. If organization memory isn't switched on for
your organization yet, saving an organization note shows "Organization memory isn't switched on
  for your organization yet."
* Personal notes stay on your computer. They don't follow you to another machine.
* Teammates who open a thread you started don't see your personal notes in it: not the line
listing the notes the run read, not the cards for notes it saved. The answer text can still
mention a note it saved. You keep everything in your own view.
* Notes are sent to your AI provider as part of each run's prompt, like the rest of the
  conversation.
* Automatic runs never read anyone's personal notes.
* Limits: 300 characters a note, 50 personal notes, 100 organization notes, 50 suggestions waiting
  for review.

Turn **Use my personal memory** off on the Memory page to stop saving and reading your personal
notes. **Delete all** removes them.
