# Settings

> Theme, the default reply persona, and how finished work announces itself.

Open **Settings** from the gear at the bottom of the sidebar, or press **⌘,** on macOS
(**Ctrl+,** on Windows and Linux). Everything here applies to this computer only.

## Appearance [#appearance]

**Light**, **Dark** or **Match system**. Match system follows the operating system as
it switches, for example at sunset. The app starts dark until you pick.

## Reply persona [#reply-persona]

Who the agent writes for when a thread starts:

* **Support**: plain English. Each problem says whose side it is on (the product, an
outside service, or the customer) and who has to act, ending in a reply you can
paste into an email as is.
* **Engineering**: full technical depth, with ids, queries, error codes and log
excerpts quoted as found. Each problem is traced from where it surfaced to where
it originates: the service, config, deploy or code behind it, with what was ruled
out and how to confirm a fix.

New Console threads, ticket follow-ups and report follow-ups start on this persona.
Any single thread can still switch in its composer.

## Notifications [#notifications]

These apply to everything that finishes on its own: Console answers, ticket triage,
reports and checkup runs.

**Desktop notifications** appear when something finishes while Triagic is in the
background or on another page. Clicking one opens the result. **Send a test** fires one
now. If nothing shows up, allow Triagic in **System Settings → Notifications** on macOS
or **Settings → System → Notifications** on Windows, and check Focus or Do Not Disturb.

**Sound** plays whenever something finishes, even while you are watching it. Pick
**Chime**, **Bell**, **Ping**, **Marimba** or **Soft**, or **None** to finish quietly.
The play button next to each previews it.

Finished work always lands in the bell in the header, whatever these are set to.
