# Who still uses this feature? Check before you deprecate

## The situation [#the-situation]

Thursday roadmap review. One line on the Q4 list says *deprecate the legacy export API*. One question comes up every quarter and never gets answered in the room: who still uses it?

The old way is a ticket. `DATA-1147, usage pull for legacy exports` goes into the data team's backlog, the data team is heads-down until the 12th, and the decision gets parked for two sprints. Nobody disagreed. Nobody had the number.

## What Triagic looked at [#what-triagic-looked-at]

We asked the Console in plain English: *How many orgs called the legacy export API in the last 90 days?* No SQL, no dashboard to build. The agent planned the lookup and ran it against the systems we'd already connected, read-only:

* **Snowflake**: API request logs, grouped by org and by week, filtered to the legacy export endpoints.
* **PostHog**: the matching product events, to check the request logs against what users did in the app.

Both tool calls are on screen as they run, with the query text. If the number looks wrong, you can read how it was produced.

## What it found [#what-it-found]

**14 orgs in the last 90 days, 3 in the last 30, and declining.** The answer came with a week-by-week table, so the trend is visible and not asserted.

The follow-up decided it: *Which three?* One enterprise account, Arcadia Labs, and two trial orgs, each with its last call date. That turns "should we deprecate it?" into a short migration email to one customer.

The footer on the answer reads `9.4k↑ 410↓ $0.09 11.3s · 3 calls`. Nine cents of model usage on our own key, eleven seconds, and nobody's sprint was interrupted.

## What changed [#what-changed]

The deprecation went ahead with a date, a named customer to migrate and two trials to ignore. The data team never saw a ticket. The same question now gets asked in the meeting, because the answer arrives before the agenda moves on.

It works for any "does anyone still use this?" question your connected systems can answer: an old plan, a webhook version, a settings page. Connect [Snowflake](/integrations/snowflake), [PostHog](/integrations/posthog) or [whatever holds your usage data](/integrations).
